Wow! The biggest think I’ve caught on my ultralight jig pole was a 16 lb flathead. I have had a few lines broken & hooks bent by who knows what!

I’ve only caught one pickerel at Okatibee. He was about 9 inches long; caught him in the backwaters above the causeway.

I've been fishing Okatibbee all my life and have never caught a drum there. There were some hybrid stripers in there years ago but I think they all died out and weren't restocked. There are a good many carp in there. I hooked a big one in the tail while pulling crankbaits one day and it took me 45 minutes to get my crankbait back. Lol

At the end of April and start of May you can load a john boat slap full with channel cat that spawn on the rocks. Biggest I have caught was 15lbs blue though. Guy jogging out by the island one day caught a 32 lb carp that I saw. Have seen some pretty nice bass come out. You can go up the creek and catch all the gar you want. Never caught a pickerel in my life so don’t know. Plenty of Gog in there too

How in the world does a guy go from jogging to catching a 32 lb fish?

I've seen some big blues come out of there.
