Does anyone use fluorocarbon main line? If so, what brand and test works for you.

    Default Fluorocarbon main line

I tried Florocarbon but didn’t care for the longevity of it. It gets brittle over a fairly short time and must be replaced more often. I pre tied a bunch of double minnow rigs with it and even though they were stored out of the sunlight, they got brittle and broke the next season. I went to the Silver Thread AN-40 silver color (clear)and it last a loooooong time. Rigs will last for years if stored properly without any issues. The co polymer line has a smaller diameter than the # rating of mono. 12lb line is more like an 8 or 10 diameter, etc. Silver Thread is similar to Magna Thin line and extremely abrasion resistant.

I use fluorocarbon on my single pole jig poles. I think you can feel the thump better with no stretch in the line. Plus I don’t put very much line on them.
