Those are good areas....get back in the backwater and sloughs single poling with minnows
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Work the old river runs, look for 15-20 feet of water. Be careful when running it can get shallow quick

Donald and Cal both know what they are talking about, G does also. I don't usually fish that far north on the TenTom, but I know enough about the areas that all of these techniques will work at any given time. Weather and water conditions dictate which one will be best. I think you are being wise to bring your spider rig set-up. It is so versatile and you can quickly eliminate water. Once located you can decide how you want to fish for them. Spider rig, single pole dipping, casting single jigs, or pulling corks. All will work.
