    Default Summer Crankin

    Hey guys,

Work changed my schedule and I will have to delay my spring to summer for fishing trip. First time coming to the area and would like to either fish Butla, Sardis, Enid, or Grenada. Pulling jigs cranks. Any advice on which lake and best place to stay. We typically like to be close to a good restaurant as we fish all day and hit the food trough afterwards. Thanks for any advice.

Get you a cabin at Enid then you can fish there, Sardis or Grenada which ever one is on at the time. Generally that time of year Enid should be good.

Thanks Cray! Never been on a trip when water will be that hot, but I do longline and pull cranks in other lakes. Gonna give it a shot.

Is Enid same as Sardis and Grenada as far as size and numbers? Is it a good summer troll bite? Thanks

Enid is one of the funnest lakes to fish you will catch tons of fish!! Unfortunately most will be short fish! Don’t get me wrong Enid holds some giant crappie to just holds a lot of smaller fish! But if you stay at Enid it’s only a short drive to any of the lakes!

Enid is smaller. Therefore you don't need as powerful binoculars. 7x35 will suffice. Sardis and Grenada require at least 10x50s. 12x50 are even better. The hotter the weather the hotter the bite. Umbrella is the key.

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
