    Default Meridian Area

    Hey guys
It's been a long long time since I've been on this forum. I am in the process of moving to Meridian. Looking for suggestions on good fishing opportunities in the area. I have been living close to the coast for the last 11 years and most of my fishing has been saltwater. I am a very experienced bass, crappie, and catfish guy. I need all the help I can get on where to go.

Own two boats and will also be looking for a dry storage facility that is reasonably priced. One is bass hawk fiberglass with a 9.9. The other is a 16.5 aluminum bass boat with a 40. I should be equipped to fish most places you folks suggest. Thanks in advance.

Okatibbee will be your home lake. Very nice bass and overrun with crappie. The crappie run a little on the small size for MS standards, but they are plentiful. An hour to the east is the TenTom Waterway, an hour to the west is Ross Barnett. Both offer tremendous bass and crappie opportunities. A little south of you near Pachuta is a private place called Lake Eddins. A very well managed trophy bass and crappie lake. It is rumored to hold many crappie in the 3-4 lb range. You must own a home or land there in order to fish. Hope this helps.
