    Default any black crappie?


    in okatibbee? I notice all the pics i see are of white crappie i love the way black crappie look a very beautiful fish iknow they dont have as many eggs as whites so they dont populate as much but curious about this id like to catch some

    Yes. During the Spring you will catch a lot of the black male crappie in the shallows. On the north end of the lake I catch some specks.

    Yep there are some in the lake but lots more white crappie. Some folks catch male white crappie with their courting colors on in the spring and call them black crappie but they are mistaken. You can almost tell the difference by body shape, whites tend to be longer and the blacks seem more stubby. My opinion.

    yeah blacks r fatter more like a bluegill panfish whites r more like a white bass

    My place on the Tombigbee is an hour from Meridian. Good fishing
