Default Transducer location for side image

Im curious about mounting the transducer on the rear of my boat. I put it at the bottom rh side of the transom. Does the motor not effect the sonar beam that the transducer shoots to the lh side? I ran about 30ft to the right of the weather station at Fannin Landing and never saw it on my screen.

"Does the motor not effect the sonar beam that the transducer shoots to the lh side?" Yes it will if the motor is in line with the transducer. It will not shoot through the motor or anything that is in it's way. Simple way to check this would be to lift the motor up and see if it clears up sonar picture to the left while running the trolling motor as the boat will have to be moving to get side imaging to work correctly.

Trim your motor up a little and see if you can see to the left

I used to have to trim the motor up a bit when I had an SI transducer mounted on the transom of an aluminum boat to see the left side as well.
