Stuart, These images are from my Lowrance. The blue one is the standard Lowrance base map - not much detail. The middle one is the Navionics Ross Barnett map. The first one I created using Navionics Sonarchart Live. In my opinion a good map is worth the price. ANd one you make yourself is even better. This is all the same area. and don't be copying my waypoints

Thanks! I have NAVIONICS on my iPhone. Would you have any idea if I could download the phone map to a chip that would work on a Hummingbird.

Not sure about Lowrance, but with the HB 7 just pony up the extra $100 and buy the Lakemaster 4.0 Southeast States map card. It's has very good detail on the lakes I fish and even performed well on the Rez the one time I fished there. You have Autochart capabilities with the 7, but HB recommends the purchase of a Zero Line SD card, another $100. I read that a standard 32gb SD card would suffice for mapping (not 100% sure), but for the data conversion to existing charts is preferred to use the Zero Line card. You can autochart up to 8 hours just on the units memory, but that ain't mapping much of a lake the size of Barnett.

GET THE LAKE MASTER CARD YOU WILL BE GLAD
