    Default Arkabutla New Fisherman

    Hi folks,
Just moved to the Hernando area and now I’m on the hunt for some fishing spots. I have a boat but would like to get some input on where I could go to get some good bank fishing in. Looking to try to catch some crappie toward the end of September into October. Any tips would be appreciated!

Looking at the fruit jar deal this past weekend " Butla " might be a tough call . I have never even seen that lake but "Dean Hill recreational area " on Enid might be the ticket . Most locals call it "Wildcat ". 350 acres of Cypress trees and cotton mouths . There are roads and clear banks to fish from .

MoSlabz, I'm tied up for now. Will get back with you when I can fish Butla.

They're hard enough to catch from a boat at Butla much less from the bank.

Ah man. I’ve heard some success stories out there from doing research. Then again.. I’m new around here. Thanks for the input anyway!

Appreciate the input. Nothing wrong with being humble. Makes the chase better I suppose. I guess if they have no home then that must mean they can be caught anywhere at anytime?

You are exactly right. But they will be one at a time. Here, there, and everywhere. I haven't been able to bank fish Butla in 25 years. The road coming out of old Coldwater down the side of the tracks was the last place I bank fished. Good luck to ya
