    Default Adding weight to crankbait

Can anyone tell me how far back to pull bandit 300 with a 1oz sinker tied 3 ft. In front of the bait to get down to 18 ft. Using 30 lb. Power pro braid?

Yes....but they are talking a bout pulling
Using less weight and letting lots more line out.

All depends on speed Fred, for that deep I would say 50 to 60 feet of line out at 1.5mph and as you speed up you will need to let some more out. Get up around 2 mph just add more weight, 1.5 oz or a 2oz.
What I have found is that I target fish I am seeing on the sonar, if at 18 feet I put my rods at say 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 and 70 and see which one gets hit and kinda zoom in on em. With weights they sure get down quicker and deeper.

52' at 1.5mph with a Bandit 300. Zero your line counter at the weight from the tip of your rod. To double check do I like I do run flats and make notes, I'm assuming your angle of your rod / line will be steeper pulling from your pontoon.

Thanks guys, getting down there now but I sure do miss being able to see the rod tips shaking when the crank is working. Now I have to reel up every now and then just to see if I'm dragging a dink.... Lol
