Crappie may be bigger, but bet we catch more catfish and i never break a tip. What pound line are you usung to break tips. With the 30lb braid i dont hardly ever use a dip net even with catfish and dont have a problem.

Probably right, Feelay.. Either way I am looking to see if something is better.. The eight foot is the most fragile...I have very little problem out of the 12s, no problem with the 14& 16..o/t I caught o e 16 in the rafters on my shop.

Thanks for the help guys...I have landed 12 lb cats, 10lb bass, and last week a 4 ft Gar on PSTs...I like most B&M products..At this time, I have 32 of their products. Jack wells has done more for our sport than any other man I know..Still don't change the fact that I am breaking tips when they shouldn't on the shorter rods...if I find something better, I will change

I use cabelas driftmaster rods 6' and 9' as well as PSTs and 14' SCR. I haven't broken a tip on any of them to date.

I agree with Feelay, I have never broke a PST Tip on my cranking rods. If I get hung up, I just grab the rod and make sure it all stays straight. It will either come off or break the lure, but have never broke a tip.

I break 1 about every season. Your not the only one. Replacing a tip here and there is cheaper than a new set. They pull great and push 3 ounce weights great. I had mine for about 7 years now. I used sos pads on them this year and slicked them up nice.
