    Hey there isn't any thing at all wrong with catchin shorts....That just proves you are a good little fisherman

    I have no problem with the way it is now. Our lakes produce trophy sized crappie, and that's because of the regulations we have in place now. IMO, the biologists are doing a great job managing the lakes. It is amazing, with all the fishing pressure, our lakes are still as productive as they are. There is a reason for that.

    They are doing just fine the way it is. Mother Nature has put these fish in these lakes not the Corp. Bad spawn years has the keeper short ratio kiltered.

    As for the issue of mortally wounding released fish, I do wish they would let you keep an under or two to compensate for this. There is always one or two shorts that gets hooked real deep and is bleeding like hell that I know will not make it. But I guess they become feed for the slimers. Nothing goes unwasted.

    That’s really the only thing I’d change. It’d be nice to be able to keep 5 under 12”. Those 11” fish are tasty Too many shorts being caught
