Default Replacing rear trebles with single hooks

We are getting ready to hit the"big 3" in the next few weeks and I'm unsure about changing out my hooks or bending barbs down. I'm just trying to get a feeling about this from other trollers on the big 3. What works best for you? How many fish do you feel like you either lost or saved by doing either?

Waste of time in my opinion, lose more longling a jig than I do cranking.

Just take a good pair of needle nose pliers and take your time unhooking! I have seen folks just rip hooks out and wonder why the fish die.....

Thank goodness....I didn't want to have to mess up my cranks to fish the big three. If you guys aren't doing it then neither will I. I always try to unhook carefully but sometimes those dinks can get hooked deep.

We have some eagles at Okatibbee and the few fish that are killed by us, we have seen eagles or GBH's come down and get the fish so most of the time they don't go to waste at least here.

If you’re getting a bunch of deep hooksets you may be going a little slow.

So why aren't you concerned about damaged shorts on your home lake ?
