Some of em are likely to have had little sleep, blood sugar irregularities from either not eating or from jelly donuts, some degree of dehydration, and possibly drugs (Rx included) and/or alcohol. Mix that with a guy that doesnt fish a lot who is uncomfortable behind the wheel or on a tiller and add in a new graph and i bet you can get a repeatable situation like what you saw.

Beware if you see my little boat coming at 3 mph. I have my head down and looking at the sonar. Yes I know it is dangerous but I am looking for those little fishes on my 7" screen. But most days on the little lake I fish there is not but 3 or 4 boats there which is a good thing I reckon. Beware of us old gubers we can't see good so watch out here we come.
Oh and if you have sonar you are doing the same thing. So never take for granted that another boat sees you. Be careful and good luck fishing.
