    Default Enid Wade Advice

Will be running up 55 on Monday. No boat. I will have about 4 hours to kill. Looking for a walk in access point that can put me in some decent wading water. Not looking for anyones honey holes just a parking spot. PM me if you like. Enid would be nice since it is closest to the interstate but the other work too. Thanks.

Enid is about 10 ft over summer pool (18 feet over the standard rule curve for this time of year). It is a totally different lake than it has been in many years. I fished it this past weekend from a boat and it was hard to find places where I could get in shallow water. I caught 4 keepers in about 10 feet of water.

If you're on 55 and want to wade, you can pull off the interstate after you pass the highway 32 junction (Exit 227). Going north, you'll wait till the interstate splits, when it comes back together you'll be coming down a hill. There'll be a field to your left (West) and trees to you right. When you come off that hill, there's a small creek that runs back into Enid. You can park off the interstate just in front of that bridge, the place is fairly noticeable (but might be because I know where it's at!!). From there you can walk that small creek back to the west side of Bean Creek. I've never done with the water this high, so I can't tell you how far you'll have to go, but it won't be far (it's not far with regular pool). You'll most likely be fishing in the trees and that might be just where you want to be right now.

If you're not sporty on the adventure side, take Exit 227, go East on Hwy32 until you get Longbranch. You can go to the ramp and wade the woods there; you can go to the end of the road and wade the woods around the dead end, or you can continue past the Longbranch landing road to the bridge and wade either side of the road there.

You can also go to the damn, slide down to Persimmon Hill, and wade that area. I don't know about the North side of the lake, but with water this high, you got lots of options.
