    Default War Eagle Boats

Hello everyone I don't know if I should ask this here or in the main forum . I have a War Eagle 961 Blackhawk when I get on plane I lose bottom and depth. My boat came with a bracket welded on the back of the boat and that's where I mounted my transducer. I would like to ask if anyone running a Blackhawk do you have the same problem of losing bottom. Thanks
Thanks ennivator thanked you for this post

Most aluminum boats seem to have this problem I have found. That transducer has to be PERFECT and have no air bubbles flowing across it. Which Is very hard on most boats if not impossible. Some may have dialed it in perfectly on their boats and achieve speeds 20+ MPH. But to me I feel like If you are getting to 10-15mph before you are loosing bottom....you aren't doing too bad. You can always experiment with moving the transducer around and try to improve your situation....just don't get discouraged if it doesn't get much better.

I have a Wareagle 1648 and same problem. I think on mine the way the transom is shaped, the transducer is too close to the prop.

Both my express H20PFC and my Alumacraft MV Crappie Magnum do this also. It bothers me on unfamiliar lakes, so I try to make sure on the bigger lakes that my lake maps are up to date and I set the depth finder off set so that the map reflects the actual depth of the water, then use the GPS tracking across the map to keep me aware of the water depth I am in. Doesn't keep me from hitting stumps etc, but it does keep me from running aground.

This problem has plagued me with every aluminum boat I have had. My Wareagle 1754 is my best one ever. On most days I can maintain bottom in excess of 25 mph. My transducer is slightly below the bottom of my boat.

My Excel Bay Pro 203 HB1199HD keeps good bottom signal to 40mph on 2D. Of course rnvinc rigged my electronics. My transducer is probably 1/4 inch below straight line of the hull and is slightly tail down (part of transducer AWAY from the boat is slightly lower than the front).
