    Default long lining

for you guys that have done this for a while what length poles do you use. i started with four two off each side 10' and 12' which worked fine. i tried to add a 14 footer and got quite a few tangles. with the two pole set up i can position the poles so i get about 21/2 to 3 foot of separation cant seem to getem positioned right with three on each side. from the bow i place them longest to shortest. any thoughts

you got the right idea. When legal I fish a 12 and a 10 off each side up front. out he back I run 4 poles. I use 6 to seven foot rods but you can get by with shorter or a little longer

thanks, i think im just gonna stick with 2 off each side for now, till i put back enough for that ultrex trolling motor. then i can use my pull bar from the back. on a decent day even 4 when your by yourself and running the trolling motor can be hectic. been trying to figure this out on my own for two years and its rapidly becoming my favorite style of fishing

Reverse your pole lay out from small to large from bow. The pole up front will run closest to boat. A little bit of trouble but it works.
