    Default Tunica cutoff

Shouldn't it be right this weekend? About leveled off. But those carp could be pesky. Either there or East Moon for me.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.

With the carp in the cut off and the White at 23", I think I'd just cut the yard. The bank at Mossy and the one at lower Perish washed out (unless they have fixed it) and the river can run straight through East Moon. When the river goes down most of the water goes out of East Moon. It was a super fishery in it's day. All of the boat camps on the oxbows on the Mississippi here closed years ago within 30 miles in either direction.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

I have a lot of great memories from those two places. I know they still catch fish in the MS. river oxbows their just not what they use to be and that is a fact, darn carp. However, I guess you could wear protective body gear, a catchers mask, put your head on a swivel, have one person on point with a shotgun, ready at all times when you start or run your big motor to shoot the pesky critters and go catch a mess at midway, Whitehall, tunica, Desoto, or any of the other great oxbows.

We as a group have camped at Tunica River Park. It has restrooms, water and electricity. Tables on a concrete slabs with a grill and covered.
Mosquitoes will carry you off if not enough spray is used.
We fished the cut off and river for a few days. The carp we boated at the cut off were cut bait on the river.

I think the pay ramp is closed. I had heard that Fred which lived there and kept up the ramp and parking lot died. I don't know if its is legal to access the chute from the river or not.

I sure would like for some of you "experts" come down (Tunica, Flower Lake, Beaver Dam) & teach me how to push cranks!!
All I can catch are Gar & catfish! I have resorted to bream fishing! Can't even find a bass like days of old.
With the recent, late Miss River rise, I wonder if it's going to help or hurt our Oxbow fishing?
Also, I having been trying to "net" the Asian Carp all year & so far, have had very little luck getting enough to make a run to the processing plant! You know it's bad when you can't catch Carp!

There sure are processing plants. One at Indianola (Moon River or New Moon Foods) will set a container for you & call 'em when it's full. The one at Sunflower you have to deliver.
