Default Sardis boat ramp for pulling cranks

What is a good general area to launch for pulling cranks? I'll be in a 16 foot riveted boat with 30 hp etec so I don't really like traveling long distances. I've only launched at clear creek and hurricane landing and the hurricane landing area is the one Im most familiar with and closest to

Teckville if the wind isn't from the south too strong. Good flats west of the timber to troll. Also the mouth of clear creek is just a good long troll away. Good luck !

Clear creek is a good choice. It's near the center of the lake. Lots of options from there pulling cranks without lots of travel. As you already know, Watch The Wind Direction and Speed!!!!!!!!!

What wind direction typically makes the lake the most dangerous and toughest fishing conditions?

I've been run off the lake by wind one time when a roller broke at the bow and water streamed down the boat to my console. It was time to reel up and get in. We were on the west end of the lake pulling cranks into a stiff east wind. Alot of open water at that end for rollers to form from the east.

Keep your head up and check your smart phone radar. Pop up tstorms this time of year can come up quick.

Any direction that's 10 and up. Pop up thunderstorms are the worst. The lake is around 3 miles wide and 20 miles long. Any direction would be rough with high wind.

    Double the predicted wind speed.
