Default A day on the river with a good friend

Me and Donnie hit the old river yesterday down near Columbus and single poled fished some sloughs down there. We had a blast. I was trying out a new BnM Duck Commander jig pole and also a new Mr. Crappie SOLO real......Both performed great. We tried several different things but the only thing the fish wanted was a pink Arkie jighead with a blue and white Mr. Crappie Joker by Strike King. THey were scattered about and we single pole jigged a lot of stumps, logs, tree tops, and grass beds. It was a nice day to be back in there....turkeys were gobbling, turtles were out, gar and grinnel everywhere, and yes the snakes were out also. But the crappie were there also and the males still had their spawning Tuxedos on. We ended up with 30 in the box and probably had that many throwbacks.....we missed a lot of fish and we had a lot get off on us too but it was a fun day.
