Default TRAC Electric Winch for pulling chain

Does anyone have any experience using these winches for pulling a chain? Do they hold up ok?

Have a buddy that deploys his, wind or no wind. Thinks he can hold his line better. He makes his trolling motor pull it. Has switch front and aft. Works very well. His trolling motor hates him.

I do it manually and tie a little loop knot and hook it to the d ring with a carabiner. Winch seems like something else to spend a Saturday working on instead of fishing.

I have seen a couple of tourney guys using winches for chains. Looked like a pretty good deal to me. Have one mounted on stern of my boat and have thought about trying it. Don't know how the trac winch is set up inside but mine has stout enough gears in it that don't think it would be a problem.
