What kind of finder are you installing? And, don't pull a DonDon and put the ducer mount on upsidedown.;)

I finished it all up this afternoon/evening! I just need to plug her in and check it out. I replaced an old transducer on the transom with a new one that works with my humminbird 525. I also mounted a second "mount" on the top of my console where the original old f/f mount was, and ran a new power supply.
The guy who had this boat had rigged this 525 to mount on the front of the boat so he could see it while trolling. He ran an outrigger pole about 6 feet in front of the boat that the original transducer is mounted on. Kinda neat when you are trolling, but you can't see water depth while cruising across the lake as you have to pull in the outrigger thing!! Hence..adding this other one where a different, original, older model hbird and transducer were mounted. Unfotunately, none of those brackets or wires/plugs were compatible with this 525. I'll try and take a pic and post it.
.....think I've got a bad ground to my fuse panel. sighhhh...... It's late. I'll find it tomorrow!
If you were going to buy some new poles for pulling crankbaits....what would you reccomend? What lengths etc. Where would you get them?
G-3, I really like my Shakespere 12' Graphite Crappie Hunters. I've never pulled cranks before but will be this year when water temp gets to 60. I got mine at Academy. I plan to start out with 4 rods two 12' & two 10' and go from there. I'm still re-reading this thread to learn as much as I can. Still not sure on the line, I've read a lot about mono and braid, but still undecided.
That depends. Have you decided if your going to push from the front, pull down the sides or off the back?
Yikess, I'll be pulling from the back to start with, had two sets of rod holders make for that purpose just a couple days ago.
I will be pulling of of the back on large lakes. I am thinking...three rods on each side at the back of the boat. On smaller lakes I will be pushing cranks from the front.

There is a guy here that has a pontoon that does the same thing, pole mounted transducer, at least thats what I think is on that pole off the front. Don't know how it works. I have 2 DF's on my boat, one for the TM and another for the big motor so don't have to use the TM one when running the big motor. Instead of a pole off the front I have my TM transducer tilted forward a few degrees kind of like aiming a flashlight ahead of yourself when walking at night. You have to adjust it for the best angle, got mine where I can see my jigs using my 12' poles spider-rigging, works for me.
