    Default Twin Cities Crappie

Going to be moving there in January, and wondering what lakes are good for Crappie? Never ice fished, so looking for spring summer fall fishing. Thanks in advance!

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day!

Size: 108.7 KBI do most of my crappie fishing a couple hours away from the cities. Any direction as long as north is in it. Lots or good crappie fishing in MN but it can be hard to find a decent sized fish in the cities. Go to the MN DNR lake finder page for info on lakes and the fish in them. Alexandria, Ottertail County, Detroit Lakes, Grand Rapids, etc.

Buy some warm outer gear. It can get cold in January!

Thanks! I have a bass boat all rigged up for Crappie fishing with Mega 360 and Livescope. Really want to find a couple places within an hour or so to hit after ice out. Will be living in Burnsville.

I would look around St Cloud and around Chisago. If you can do two hours, you can throw Alexandria in your mix and there are alot of good lakes there.
