    Default Lake Pelican will info

Hello guys. Gonna be bringing a crew to Pelican in June for a week to get a little different look for a change. We're not dead set on crappie fishing even though I've heard it's pretty good. Any info ya guys have would be greatly appreciated. Tight lines!!!

Toad, There are about 25 Pelican Lakes in MN. You are going to have to narrow it down.

Love that Pelican Lake. June is the best month to fish the lake. This year we are on the verge of record ice out dates. Pelican has a ton of crappies. Memorial weekend is usually very good for them as they are usually spawning about that time. Spawn will probably push into June this year. 1/32 oz jig and tube under a bobber is all I use. If they are spawning you will be able to see them in weed beds or on the rocks. Will be all over the lake. If they are not spawning, I don't know where to find them after the spawn. Tons of cabbage weeds around the lake.

Later in June you have the spawn for sunfish and bass. Pelican used to have a lot of giant bluegills. I caught a 1lb 9oz bluegill in 1980. Bigger gills are deeper but there aren't the numbers of big ones anymore. Lots of small and large mouth in the lake. Love to cast rocky shorelines with surface lures at dusk for smallies. Lots of northerns as well.

Special regulations on Pike and Bass. Good Luck.

I will be there this year. If not Memorial, then the first weekend in June. Maybe both, maybe all week.

Alumacraft Tournament pro with 140 Johnson. I usually fish around the islands toward the west side of the lake.
