Default Tim's Ford Trip Tuesday June 11th 2013

I got a call a few days ago from Randy Anderson offering a weekday trip up to Tims Ford for some dock shooting, and fishing of blow downs. I gladly accepted, we decided on Tuesday and for once it seemed that a planned ahead trip worked out with relatively little wind and no rain. We did have plenty of heat though as it got really hot by late morning. We also noticed that devils step water level is very high, even higher than we expected as it was over the walk out ramp there now, but only barely over it. The water color or clarity was not as dark or muddy as we expected, and that was good thing. Fish are a little harder to find now due to 544 extra million gallons of water at the lake, but thats just how it is. We took home 6 keepers and had a total of 12 fish on the lines for the day. That's actually not too bad, at least its not for me on Tim's, as that is probably an above average day for a lot of folks on there for sure. I took a photo of Randy with a couple of our nice fish. We quit sometime shortly after lunch as the heater in Randy's boat would not shut off and it was just too warm to continue fishing. We had a great time and other than the excessive heat, it was an awesome fishing trip. We had J.W. and Kane come up to us while we were fishing yesterday so those guys have been out getting ready for next Saturday.

There they are. I mean crappie. Last I was there they were scattered and hard to find. I found fish were I wouldn't have thought. Seems the summer pattern is just rolling around. Nice job on a hot day. Thanks for the report.

So that is what a Tim's Crappie looks like. Glad you guys found them and maybe you will loose them in 2 weeks!

Had a really good time on the fishing trip Tuesday. Like Toby said the water was very high. When we got to Devils step that morning the water was not over the walk way but when we came back it was over it a little. Water has warmed this last week as the water temp was 80 degrees. Hopefully next time I'll have the air conditioner working on the boat.
