    Default Going Fishing (06/09)

I'm going out this Sunday morning (06/09). Going to put in at Turkey Creek Boat ramp.

Anybody want to come along? I got room for three others to ride along & fish.

I wish but I'll be working. Was setting here at the house waiting for that rain to clear up north...fixing to head out myself. Good luck

As old saying goes "A bad day at fishing is better than a good day at work!".

My brother-in-law & I went out and caught a bunch of little brim. He did catch one decent size blue gill and I caught a just right size channel cat.

Then about 1100 it started raining for about 10 minutes that drove us to get under Awalt Bridge to get out of the rain. We hit a couple of hollows down stream from the bridge, but just caught little ones again.

About noon the clouds started to getting really dark, wind picked up & the temperature must have dropped about 20°F making the wind down right chilly. We decided to high tail it for the ramp & wait it out there to see what the weather was going to do.

We tied up to the dock and lunch, waiting to see what would happen. Things didn't get any better. After waiting out the rain in the truck for about 45 minutes, it wasn't getting any better, so we loaded the boat up during one of the lulls in the rain & headed home.

Looking ahead to next weekend if the weather co-operates I'm going back out at the same ramp. I was wanting to check out some coves on the east side of Turkey Creek.

That weather was not cooperative on Saturday for sure. Sorry you did not get to fish you new found spot. You might have had to fight JW off of it though!

I'm wanting to go out again, but can't seem to find anyone who wants to go along.

Hal I would take you up on it but was going to go today but had to watch one of my grand daughters so didnt make it. Now have things to do in the yard and plan on working on the boat in the morning. Have a trolling motor to mount that I got off of Tracy. Also need to try and figure out why the lights went out on the boat. I think plugging them in when they were wet didn't help much. Are you going to the tournament next Saturday? I am going to try and make the meeting and will be at the tournament God willing. Maybe will see you there.

Still want to hook up with you. Never been on a pontoon boat before. We'll get it done.
