After the fact it's kinda funny, but that is not folks our age need to be doing on a regular basis glad you got your rod back with minimal loss of items and no injury.
Who are we if we can not poke fun at ourselves? John Wells was nice enough to meet me at Woods early this morning to enjoy an unplanned day off. Things went well and we found a few fish, but no giants. At one point, my rods were loaded the holders and I was casting with my favorite rod. No holder was available for this rod. Got busy doing something else and, not paying attention, knocked the good rod over the side. "OH NO!!!!" was all I could come up with and reached for the rod. Not having foam handles it was heading down at a good clip. I got as low as I could and couldn't get a grip on it, so over the side I went, head first. In retrospect, I shouldn't have scared John out of several years growth like that. This was a completely instinctive reaction to seeing my best rod and reel going south. Shortly after going under I got a grip on the rod and headed back to the surface. Threw the rod in the boat, looked at John who was beside himself wondering if I'd gone round the bend, and headed for the lower back section of the boat. Got back in with a bit of effort and a little help from John. An exciting couple of minutes. Taking stock of myself, dripping on the deck, I realized my camera was in my my pocket, but my phone no longer was. My shades were no longer present either. Long story shorter, upgraded the phone for a dollar, camera resides in a bag of rice and many prayers of resurrection offered, and I still have to go to wally for another pair of shades. Wallet hardly got wet and was dry shortly after getting home. I wont bore you with the statement of where things need to go for their protection while in said boat. Thought y'all could use a laugh at my expense. we did have 13 keepers in the box when we quit just after noon.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around

Great story. I dropped my cell phone in Tim's last month. I didn't dive in after it. I keep it on the console now. I bet John was in shock seeing you go head first into the lake. Oh my.
Next thing you know, you will be making tv commercials wearing a clown wig and keeping company with world famous pro fisherman. Just remember us when you make it big.
You must like Woods for a swimming hole. I think that this is your second time in there....you are not alone however.
