Default Dropping level of Woods again

Rumor has it that AEDC will drop the water level of Woods reservoir this winter 4 feet in order to repair the boat ramps. This will be about 1 foot lower than last year. This a rumor at this point but it did come from a good sourse. This is believed to start as soon as duck season is over.I dont know when that will be.If they fix Morris ferry first and leave Franklin county beach ramp alone till they have one ready for use we can still get in a Franklin County ramp.

I talked to the creel clerk(Emily)about 10 days ago and she told me that they were going to drop the level, I think she said 3 feet, in order to put in a new ramp at Morris Ferry. She was concerned that it could hurt the spawn but if we get a normal amout of rain then the lake should be back to normal by spawn time.

At the duck blind drawing, they said you had a week after duck season to remove your blind. After that week, they were going to draw the lake down to repair the ramps. Don't know if any of that has changed.

When does duck season close? That should give us a good idea when to get the canoes out.

I can do a lot of things, but this large butt is no longer designed for a canoe!! I'll have to bank fish.

I talked to Emily today ,she said that right after duck season they are going to draw it down 5 feet. I think it was only down about 3 or3.5 feet last year.If theyget good weather they should be done in 1 week (which will probably be a month)then start raising it back up .Fish are easier to catch when they are herded up.
