Tired of going in circles
Tomorrow I'll be hopefully picking up a new trolling motor, if not I'll be ordering one.
A few years ago after learning how to troll cranks for crappie I purchased a used, pawn shop, bow mount Minn Kota. It was serviceable but had an issue with randomly spinning in circles while on Autopilot. Bothersome but manageable.
This year the issue has become more routine, especially when moving in a south direction. Yesterday evening I reached the end of my limit. Trying to reel in a fish & net it with multiple lines out in a crosswind and attempting to keep the motor going in the correct direction is NOT how to enjoy time fishing. Will be selling it with full disclosure.
I'm getting a new Minn Kota 12v Powerdrive with Autopilot and Spot Lock. After a day fishing from vbottom's boat and seeing how great Spot Lock was, the decision to replace my motor wasn't difficult.

Picked up the new motor yesterday before work, installed this morning, hit the local lake this afternoon. Couldn't be happier with the upgrade in performance. Put 17 in the cooler.
New water tomorrow evening!

Those look like some real nice fish. Let me know how you like the spot lock on that motor, it's a newer feature on that motor so wondering if they got it right.
