    Default Meat Hunt X2

I'm putting on a fish fry for my family in a couple of weeks and after weighing the fillets I have on hand I found that I didn't have enough for the 100 or so that are expected to show up. Dang it, we had to go fishing to try and add to my inventory. Last week Jeff and I went to Morrison and pulled jigs/plastics and like birdbander said, dinkfest. We caught hundreds of crappie with most being small, under 8", but managed to catch enough "cleaners" for a 2 man limit.

Saturday we traveled down to Wall Lake and again pulled jigs along the weed edges in 8-10 fow and again caught hundreds of crappie. We were catching bigger fish than on Morrison and managed to put a 2 man limit in the box in about 5 hours, including some decent gills,Name: 100_0018.jpg

Jeff landed a big bass on an 11' BGJP and I matched him by bulldogging a pike out of the cabbage with a 12 footer. Wilbur was along for the ride but was camera shy today. We even got a visit from Jeff's granddaughter, Alice, when we got home.

Ring perch? Never heard that one. We have yellow perch and white perch.

Glad you took some out of Morrison, spartannation. That lake could use a substantial reduction in numbers to help boost size. It would be a great place to turn a group of kids loose to fill limits and have a blast.

Is pulling jigs trolling with bladed jugs like beetle spins and roadrunners? That pike will put some weight in the fillet bag, eh? Nice!

I was running a beetle spin on one rod and 1/16 oz jigs on the other 2. We are trolling at around .8 mph. We use a variety of plastics, Sliders, Crappie Magnet, Big Bite, anything with a tail that puts out some vibration.
