Michigan Gathering fishing and fry day
The day started out with a beautiful sunrise.
With the opportunity to take Wilbur home for the year the group took to the water

Unfortunately on a 4 lake chain we didn't locate steelguy and his group
Spartannation brought in 3 nice crappie and has the honor of being Wilburs keeper for the year. I am sure he will keep Wilbur busy and keep us posted on Wilbur's travels. The Crappie cut-out was provided by flytier, thanks Tim!
After the fishing we had a fry and potluck. Thanks Spartannation for doing all the frying
The rest of the food was also delicious and everyone came away full. Notice who was first up in the grub line! We were privileged to have you attend Billbob!
Many good conversations and laughs were had.
After dinner while we were all still together we decided we would return to Waffle Farms for the 2023 gathering as everyone enjoyed the facilities. But it will be held May 5th-7th, a little earlier then usual in hopes of a few more co-operative fish and possibly increased attendance so save the date!!!! More will be posted as the new year approaches.

It was good to see the group again. Covid torpedoed 2020 and I couldn't make 2021 due to walking my daughter down the aisle that day. Always a pleasure to sit and talk with the ambassador of good will, Billbob. We had some good conversations and a lot of laughs. We even got a call from "D" Saturday evening and he added to the laughs. Thanks to Judy Ann, Judy Marie, Wanda and Tonda for the side dishes to go with the fish and homemade fries. Thanks to vbottom for hosting the event and K.I.S.S. (keeping it simple stupid). Also for allowing me in his new boat after I got goose poop on the carpet. And for putting me on fish.

As usual we had a good time!
Ate wayyy to much again both nights, thanks everyone for all the great dishes and sides.
We did not catch many fish this year as my grandkids were more interested in all the activities that the campground had to offer, lots of things to keep busy and they had a blast, so that made it another successful camp.
A special thanks to slab for the shirts for the kids!
Congratulations to Jeff and Jerry for showing us all how to catch crappie ,I think I forgot how?

Another successful crappie camp in the books.
I always enjoy visiting with everyone and catching up, of course there is gonna be a bunch of laughs.
We never caught a crappie, hats of to those who did and a big congratulations to Sparty, I knew it was just a matter of time before he won Wilbur.
Looking forward to next year, maybe I’ll see a little clearer.
