    Default Restocked on Crappie Dinners

Enjoyed a couple of days over the last week or so lifting crappie from the reeds with the telescopic rods. Its been way too long (last fall) since I've had a crappie dinner because I vastly miscalculated how many to thaw for a fidh fry last summer. Luckily they're great leftovers!

Hopefully the weather will cooperate for another trip or two before they're done spawning and move into deeper water where they're not so easy. I've set a 10" MSL on crappie for myself and any guests on my boat.

Nice mess!!! it's a ton of fun catching them shallow. Hope you get another time out soon, they are almost done.

Way to go. You should come down to crappie camp in June and show us how to catch a few.

My ability to catch crappie in both numbers & size is apparently very localized to one lake it seems.
If I didn't have all of my vacation days already accounted for I'd join you. I could certainly benefit from all y'alls knowledge. Hopefully one of these times.

Drive down Saturday if you have time and help us eat some crappie fillets. Rumor has it a legend will be there (Billbob).

If I'm free I just might do that. If I do I'll give advance notice and not come empty handed.

They were still shallow Saturday afternoon. I headed out after another failed turkey hunt and just ahead of storms moving in. Caught two nice ones upon arrival then heard thunder off to the west. Didn't wait for a second warning and headed in.

The spawn is over on my lake. Time to start having to work for 'em!
Heading a little north tomorrow to explore.
