Fished the 3575 acre Sand Lake in Itasca county Minnesota all last week. We stayed at the Chapel Hill resort to fish for perch.

Awesome fishery. The lake has deep areas up to 70 foot with points and humps scattered thru it. Name: IMG_20210927_084031205.jpg

Ended up finding the majority of our fish in 6-9 foot of water in among the weeds. Pitched 1/8 oz jigs tipped with minnows and leaches into the open pockets between the weeds. We also used perch rigs dropped into those pockets. Caught some really nice perch, a few walleye, rock bass, red horse sucker, small mouth bass and numerous small pike.

Minnesota has some great fishing. Use to fish Lake Clitherall years ago. Most everyone fished for walleye and bass but the crappies and perch fishing was phenomenal. Those trips like that sure make for good times and sometimes fuzzy memories. Congrats!
