Default A "speck" of luck at no luck Duck

My son and his family are moving south east of us about 45 minutes. As I will be spending more time that way, I wanted to explore some of the lakes in the area. Duck is one of the bigger bodies of water in that area. Now, I've heard the stories from numerous folks how that lake holds fish but is not very giving. Therefore the label, "no luck Duck". So, I was prepared to basically give Michelle a boat ride. Weather was suppose to be clearing from the previous nights rain, but windy. No problem for a boat ride. Decided to long line as that is one of the best ways to learn a new lake. Caught my first throw back before all the rods were set. The fun continued from there. Boated 9 large mouth bass, 5 really nice rock bass and 10 crappie/specks. I lost 3 really good looking crappie at the boat. The ones that get away always look big don't they? Really struggled with boat control, at times running down wind I couldn't keep the speed below 1.8 mph or hold the weed line. But, not many speed boaters or jet skis with those conditions so that was nice. Finished with a couple of 12s and a few 9/10s in the box for a meal. Looking forward to trying my luck at Duck again in the near future.Name: IMG_20210801_103952254_HDR_2.jpg

Well, well there are fish in Duck. Glad you were able to get out and explore a new lake. Couple of good ones there. Now back to shingling.

Chapter 2. We ran back down Monday evening for about 5 hours. Landed maybe 30 crappie and a bunch of bass, kept 12 nice crappie, 1 big warmouth and an 11" yellow perch. Figured a few things out so next time should be better.
