Default Michigan 2021 Crappie Camp Agenda (June 11-13)

Here is the official agenda for this years 2021 Michigan Crappie Camp!
Its pretty much the same as the cancelled 2020 Camp with a few exceptions.
There will be no T-shirts as we already had them made befor Covid cancelled last years event so if you ordered one feel free to wear it with pride!

Please encourage everyone you can think of to attend this years camp and let's rejuvenate this worthwhile event!

We are again hosting this at the West Houghton Lake Campground
Call them at 989-422-5130 to make reservations

    Friday night Liars club

We will be having the Friday night Liars club as it has typically been done in the years past. Bring a dish to pass and your own drinks and table service at a location/campsite for our friendly fellowship. Tall tales as usual are the topics for discussion.

    Saturday/tournament day and events

    CRAPPIE/WILBUR TOURNAMENT

Entry fee is $10.00 per person to enter the Crappie tournament. Upon paying your entrance fee you will be given a ticket for a prizes giveaway.
There will be 3 prizes given away for the tournament portion based on weigh in of 5 crappie. Top weight of combined 5 crappie takes first place prize of your choosing and the coveted "Wilbur the travelling goat trophy" for one year.

Second and third place by weight of 5 combined crappie will choose remaining prize of their choice.

    SUBSPECIES TOURNAMENT

With the abundance of different species on Houghton Lake and the desire to keep fishing after getting your 5 crappie we encourage you to enter into one or more of the subspecies tournaments.
You MUST be entered in the Crappie tournament first, and then you can enter one or all of the subspecies tournaments. The cost to enter is $5.oo for each specie. The breakdown is:

    Northern Pike
    Walleye
    Bass
    Panfish

The longest fish of each category wins that specie award
We have custom painted paddles for each subspecie winner

All tickets you received when entering the tournament will be put in a hat and drawn out to receive remaining prizes.

    DINNER/AWARDS/PRIZES

As has been done in recent years, we will have a big dinner that is also a dish to pass of your choosing. Bring your own drinks and table service. We are again having the dinner and awards at the Pavillion, We will gladly accept any fish you would like to donate for the fish fry.

    50/50 Drawing

There will be a 50/50 drawing

    T SHIRTS

We will not be offering any this year, explanation up above.

    WHAT CAUSE TO CONTRIBUTE TO?

IF WE can raise enough money at this event without taking our coffers too low, it is our plan to donate some of our money to this organization:

Autism Anglers Inc - Autism Awareness, Fishing, Autism

I have reached out to them and said if we can raise what we feel we can comfortably contribute to their cause we would.
Regardless of if we meet that goal or not they (Robert Irwin and Don Morse) want to contribute to our event by supplying us with some custom made fishing rods to give away as prize(s) also Robert would like to promote to his group our event and attend too.

I hope I have explained this well enough for everyone to understand but feel free to ask and John or I will try our best to answer them and edit this post accordingly.

Looking forward to another great time with you all!
