Glad you broke the Sessions "jinx".
We had Aiden spend the weekend with us and he asked to go fishing. Since the weather looked a little iffy to go to the Detroit River after Walleye we decided to go after some local panfish.
Chris, Aiden and I first went to Morrison Lake and after 3 hours of no bites and no fights we packed it up and headed over to Sessions Lake.
I got a bit of intel from Jeff where to go so we tried that area with no luck. It started getting windy so we poked the boat into a little protected spot close to where Jeff recommended and within 10 minutes the bobber went under. I started reeling what I thought was a bass but as it got close to the boat I was pleased and surprised it was a walleye! After a picture of the 17” eye I released it, since it’s not walleye season on inland lakes.
I put a new minnow on my jig and sent it back out to the same spot and shortly the bobber slowly disappeared, I set the hook and reeled in a nice 11” crappie.
Aiden caught a couple bass, and then another crappie took my bait, and I brought it in. Chris reeled in a bass, then a bass hit my offering. Of course all the bass were released but still fun to catch them. After about 20 minutes another crappie hit my jig and minnow and joined his friends in the livewell.
That’s about the time I got a text from Aaron “Steve, if you’re still on the water there are storms coming soon”. We looked up into the sky behind the trees you could see it rolling in.....
We quickly pulled anchor and started for the launch. Since it’s a no wake lake we obeyed the rule and puttzed back to the launch. Got the boat loaded and covered just as the skies opened up and the rain rinsed off Chris dirty truck!
Good day, spent with family ....and a friend watching out for us..... I’m blessed.

Steve,
I just read in the news that there was a tornado that touched down, not to far from my house, about 3 miles. (That's not far in Tornado travel)
I sent Kevin the same text, he got home as well, just before the storm hit the GR area.
When I was a kid, tornados touched down in the flats, tore up the county park, and such. Sessions is in that general area, however higher up in elevation.
That storm was moving FAST & with a purpose......
