Come on you bird guys, help a new member out. Steve. Aaron. Are you out there. I have Lowrance with Navionics and it's decent. I only fish inland lakes, no big water.

    Default Lake maps

I know nothing about the Great Lakes.
However for HB finders it’s hands down, Lakemaster.
I see they have the Great Lakes card, not sure if that covers what you want?
I’m sure Just Steve, and some of the others can really offer advice.
I’m just filling in until someone with real knowledge comes along! LOL

I see they have a plus and a regular in the lake master and I don’t know which to get or what lakes they cover.

    I have 2 cards (I think it’s 2)
    Navionics. And LakeMaster

I’d need to pull the card out to see which one I prefer to give a answer

OE will be along with a answer but I’ll look when I get home if he hasn’t responded by then.

Just Steve sent me a text, to get on here and help out.

I had HB for years, swore I would never change, and the boat I bought came with Lowrance, and I now have Lowrance, but I often miss some of the features on my Birds.

That said, without knowing exactly what you are fishing for, I will exclude the Great Lakes, as we are in a Crappie Forum, vs a Big Lake Forum.
I'm going to use my powers of my Ancestral Pollocks, and say your looking for more inland lakes.

You can get the Great Lakes, which cover Indiana, Michigan, Ohio,
Link Here: Lake List - LakeMaster Great Lakes 4.0 (johnsonoutdoors.com)

If your graph supports aerial imagery, get the Great Lakes PLUS. I however have never really seen a need for aerial imagery while fishing. So you can probably get the standard, if you are only looking at those two map cards. Plus Map Card Link: Lake List - LakeMaster Plus Great Lakes 2.0 (johnsonoutdoors.com)

If you are truly going to go Michigan only, they have a Lake Master Michigan -v2 that would work very well. Complete list can be found in the following link, and includes, Lake St Clair, Detroit River, St Clair River, Saginaw Bay, & all connecting Great Lakes to Michigan. However its listed as a "Previous Edition" and I am not sure if it can be purchased instore now.
    Link: HB_MIV2_LakeList.indd (humminbird.com)

Of the three, I like the Lake Master Lake Michigan - 2, but if its no longer available, go with the standard, I see no need for aerial photograph, etc

Here is what is added to the Lake Master Plus, over the standard.

    OE

    LAKEMASTER PLUS

For an added angling advantage, opt for Humminbird LakeMaster PLUS. These maps include all of the features of LakeMaster with one key addition: aerial photography of high definition lakes, providing visibility to docks, buildings, and structure. You also get the choice of how you view the aerial imagery:
AERIAL ONLY - Satellite view over all land and water, no map data
LAND AERIAL + LAKEMASTER MAP - Satellite over land surrounding lake, LakeMaster map on water area
FULL AERIAL + CONTOURS OVERLAY - Satellite over land and water, contour data overlay on water

Here is another link to help you,

Its the HB Chart List. Click on the second link that says Great Lakes.

    CHART LISTS | Humminbird

Looks like the Michigan one is an older version and not available after all, so that leaves the standard map chip.

I own both the regular and the plus versions, I find the aerial photography useful on lakes that are not mapped, gives you something to go by, but on lakes that are mapped, not really something I use.

This year was my first year ice fishing with the mapping feature after picking up a Helix 7 ice unit, boy did that ever make a difference, especially on big deep lakes up here in NW Michigan.
