I have been there as well. It was about 6 or 7 years ago, and was not as good as Bassett. However, the small and unimproved launch keep others away as well.

We fished Baker maybe 5-6 years ago in the spring. Mostly fished the shallows for gills and did ok. Word on the street is there are good specks there. When I get back from Georgia we'll give it a try.

another lake you may want to try is half moon , just south of Stanton, has been probably 15 years since i have been on it , but it had a fair amount of crappie back then.
never did any good in the first section of the lake, but did ok in the middle and back portion.
tossed jigs into pockets in the middle area as it was to weedy to long line , but did good long lining the back part
