Been there before, nice little lake if you dont mind the 2 track
Very nice catch
Should have said something, I could have went possibly, or met you there, and took the Kayak. I found that place on accident once, and it was like a GOLD MINE. It has been my Holiday weekend secret location. Very little traffic, very few houses, and the house that are there, are not always on the water, if at all.
However, I have "Boated" myself out of that location, as I don't think I'm getting my 21 footer back in there, and even if I did, I'd never have to fire up the main motor. I didn't even use that on my old boat, just the trolling motor only.
Its so quiet, and serene, and mostly enjoyable.
I KNEW it was your kind of lake.

Your dang right on that Jimmy, not getting your boat back there, Heck, not sure I could get mine ever turned around.
I was going in once, and some one was going out. They were close enough to back up about 50 yards to get me in, and them get out without issues, as they were closer to backing up than I was.
Would not even think of trying to back up a 21 foot boat, from there......... Let the night mare ensue.

Probably avoid Reeds, I would be half way to angry fighting through the city traffic getting there. Couldn't find a public launch either. I'm thinking Carter Lake near Hastings may be the next new lake.
no fish in carter Jerry :fish :)
actually Jerry, carter is a lake i have been thinking of trying , i have ice fished it a few times and done ok on gills , so i know it has some of them pushing 9 inches.
only got a few crappie through the ice and nothing very big ,
i only fished it once from a boat and that was probably 15 years agom lots of smallish crappie then.
another couple small lakes you could try would be bristol and long , just south of hastings off 37
bristol has some redears in it and i did good on gills this spring , long lake is just south of it and i have never tried it , very small lake
the walleye fishing had been so good in Erie this year that i have not done much local fishing this year.
good luck if you go!
We fished Bristol and Long last summer. Also Clear which is just north of there on 37. Clear Lake isn't clear. It's shallow and weedy and FULL of small crappie and gills. Bristol is deep with a steep drop. We scratched out a decent day trolling jigs with one crappie around 12". Long is more of the same, steep drop and deep. Also did decent long lining there as well. I would like to try Fair and Fine some time.
John have you ever fished Baker? We did a couple of times but that was before we knew how to catch crappie.
