    Default Houghton Lake, yesterday

I was hoping to post photos of fat crappies like the ones I caught last Tuesday, on what would have been the last day of crappie camp. To say the bite was light is a dramatic understatement. I caught not a single fish, in places that had hundreds of them just a few days ago. First time I've been skunked in 8 trips this year.

I hope that changes for Fathers Day weekend. My sons and I are hoping to catch a few up there.

It may be just that severe cold front that put them down. I don't believe they are done spawning yet, water temp is below 65.

Me and a buddy got 9 keepers today (11" or better), an equal number of throwbacks, deep cabbage edges. It looks like they may be post spawn, a lot of ragged tails, colors fading, but a few are still around.

That's the ticket. Good group of fish.
