Default Stink hand II- they're moving shallow.

Took the boat down to Wall Lake in Delton today hoping get some more stink on my hands. There were very few fish in the first canal we tried. Next we eased across a 9 foot flat with scattered weed beds and started picking up some nice bluegill about 5 1/2 feet down. They were hitting red worms, both on a teardrop and a plain # 10 hook. When the bite slowed down we moved to another small canal and found quite a bunch of fish, both crappie and bluegills, at the very back of the canal. Baby Shad on a jig 12" under a bobber caught the crappie and red worms took the gills. On the way back to the launch we managed another dozen or so gills from the weedy flat and picked up a few crappie in some lily pads. We managed to scratch out a two man limit of 32 gills, all 7 1/2 and bigger, and 18 crappie. It was a beautiful day to be in the boat catching fish. Water temp was 47-49 and a lot of the fish we caught were in less than 3 feet of water.

    Nice! Got any pics?
Sounds like lots of fun, I don’t think you can beat bluegill.
    What’s a teardrop?

No pictures today, I didn't take my phone. I've got the fish on ice until morning so I'll try for a tailgate shot.

A teardrop is a small ice fishing jig. Usually the lead on the hook shank is shaped like a teardrop. The ones we used today were called Demons. We also used Hali jigs.
