Default Making the most of the pandemic

I was all ready to kick off my spring work schedule but our Governor had a different plan for my time, set home alone. My daughter in Atlanta called and said that if I had been staying away from the rest of humanity I could come down and spend some time with them. I had been isolated since coming back from Louisiana so a plan started to be formulated. Before the plan was in place I got another call saying my son in law had a little mishap, taking a wrong step while in their attic. He was ok but a bedroom ceiling had seen better days. I loaded up the truck with tools, clothes and food and headed south.

Isla was quite surprised when she got up in the morning and Grampy and Ziggy were at her house. She wasn't too sure about Ziggy, especially when he stole her apple (he was just supposed to have a small bite). The first picture catches him in the act. It didn't take long and they were best friends. He even got first hugs and kisses at bed time. She made sure he got fed and even cheered him on with "Ziggy, eat your food" until he cleaned his bowl.

We spent a lot of our time taking walks to a small local park, riding her bike and taking neck rides around the yard looking at things. We read books, played with her toys, blew and chased bubbles and went on daily find Ziggy poop excursions. She made sure that Grampy scooped all of it and threw it over the fence. She cracked me up when she lifted her right leg in the air and told me "this is how Ziggy pees". She wanted so badly for him to use the potty chair.

We got in our share of work, too. We planted garden, Isla's first, helped open the pool, fixed the damaged ceiling and gutted and drywalled another room. Isla even helped me with the mudding. She was my helper every morning when I made the coffee. Probably the best helper I've had since her mom was that age.

Probably her favorite was when we would go for a ride in "Bankys" truck. She would set on my lap and we would cruise around her subdivision. After we made the loop she would always tell me "one more time". We took a walk one day and were setting on a bench watching cars go by and I was telling her Grampy stories. When I told her about getting Ziggy I asked her do you know what I decided to name him. She looked at me grinning and said "Knucklehead". That one made me laugh. I even got to help potty train her. She would use her potty chair then stand up and look at me and say "Holy Moly". I was expected to say it back to her as excitedly as I could, adding "thats a lot of pee for a little girl". Too much fun!

Now I'm back home, wishing I'd have stayed longer. The weather here sucks, the state is still in lockdown and my spring customers are getting antsy. If this gets extended much longer I just might head back south again. Enjoy the pictures.

Thanks Danny. That does look better. Now would it be possible for you to flip them to my good side.

I tried all four sides. Isla has 4 good sides, you do not. That is all.
