We had a family cabin in that area and I hunted in the Pigeon River forest, I have limited fishing experience in that area but here is what I can tell you.
The three big lakes in the area are Black, Burt and Mullet all good lakes with nice fish, I’d check with any bait shops for info.
West of I-75 you will take exit 310 and go towards Rogers City, there will be a little town named Tower, that’s where our cabin was, there you will find the “Tower Pond” which is actually the Black River. We caught Northern’s, Bass and bluegill there, my son caught a big bluegill that was a Master Angler. Because it’s a River be careful of ice conditions, it may be thinner in spots.
There is a boat launch on further north on that same hunk of water we used to launch our boat from, there used to be good gills there too.
As far as IN the Pigeon River Forest, all I know is the Cornwall Flooding, I parked my truck there and hiked on in another couple miles to hunt deer. I never fished Cornwall but talked to some that did and it was a decent place to fish.
Now remember I never ice fished up there so I’m not much good, those are just some areas to look into.
There was a sporting goods store in nearby Onaway called “Parrott’s” not sure if it’s still open but you could try calling them if you can find a number.

Sorry I’m not more help than that......

I just looked it up and Parrotts Outpost has been sold. It is now called Onaway Outfitters.

I made this thread a sticky.
We can put any ice fishing related stuff here, group get togethers, etc.

We've got good temps building up down here by lake st Clair. Soon we will have ice. On another note, houghton lake and many surrounding areas have walkable ice.
This winter storm is helping quite well.

Got a buddy with access which is eager to fish and I don't know the lake very well.

Without having fished it, I would check out the marina end. I like the contours and the the larger shallow flats there. I always enjoy trying to figure out a new lake. Have fun and get us a report.

I was considering that point of interest. Had dug up some research that large gills are in the lake, but to fish really deep, I have caught large gills in the deep parts of other lakes before, burning the summer.
I'll give a decent report on my whereabouts when the time comes. Thankyou.
