Rich I know we all can relate to the path you and your family are about to go down when it’s Peeties time. They are one of the family and you have been their caretaker for many years.
I swore after the loss of Hunter (Wilbur) there would be no more, but the void of being dogless changed my mind....they are so much of your life and family.
You all gave Peetie 16 wonderful years and he was lucky to have you.

My little Peetie isn't doing well. Her kidneys have completely shut down. She isn't in pain and is resting. I pray that she passes peacefully in the night. If not, I will have her put to sleep in the morning.
The hardest decision I have ever had to make. I know it is right, but it is hard. She gave me 16 years and I loved them all. Just like the first night were she slept next to me, and every night since then, she will be by my side one last time.
