Default A new generation of fisherman?

This afternoon I got a group text from my niece, Tanya, who owns Courageous Coffee. She quit roasting early today and decided to take her son, Caleb (5), who is autistic, fishing. She let him pick out his new rod(camo) and let him choose crawlers or red worms(red worms) and was taking him to the Portland dam to try and catch his first ever fish. I was just about to knock off for the day so I decided to run to the dam and watch the fun.

When I got there they were fishing above the dam and said they hadn't had a bite yet. They tried below the dam for a while, also, without luck. I says "follow me" and took them back below the dam. After a little instruction on how to hook the worm and where to throw the bait, Tanya made a perfect cast and handed the rod to her son. Within seconds the bobber started moving against the current and Caleb, with help from his mom, set the hook on a pretty little sunfish. Hugs and high 5's followed along with pictures. Another cast and another sunfish, this one posing with the master(???) guide. Two fish was enough for Caleb, he was ready to go home and give a report to his dad.

I haven't heard if the report was limit catches of hand sized gills, but if he's any kind of fisherman, it was.

Here's the pic of Caleb and his guide.Name: Screenshot_20190830-162156_Instagram.jpg
