Everything is made for either 1/2" or 3/4" plywood. I'm afraid if I used aluminum, nothing would line up.

Today I finished gutting the interior. Any aluminum panel that was on top of plywood and not riveted to the hull was removed. All the old plywood is gone. I was surprised at how wet it was under the floor. I lowered the nose so the water would run to the front and vacuumed a couple gallons, and more was seeping from under the foam. I plan on leaving it open for at least a week to let things dry out. I was able to run a 1 1/2" pvc from front to back as a wire chase. When the new fuel line/primer bulb gets here, I'll drop it in the water and check the live well hoses for leaks before the new floor goes in.

Looks like it will do nicely for you! It’s gonna be fun watching the transformation.

So today Steve stopped over, we both had rain days. We did some brain storming and he gave me some good ideas.

One thing I'm doing is eliminating the rod locker along the port side. I never use the one in my other boat and the extra floor space will be better for me to have. Second, the fixed seats and storage area under them will probably be eliminated and pedestal seats put in their place. This will make getting on the back deck easier. Also, if we fish 3 men it gives the third a swivel seat to set in. The lower floor will be done in gorilla decking. I have enough shorts left over from a couple of decks to do the job and I won't have to worry about it rotting. Today I ran to Alro metals and got some aluminum tubing to reinforce the front and back decks and aluminum plates to strenghten the floor where the pedestals mount.

The shut offs for both live wells are broken so I picked up parts to re-plumb the aerators.

I started cleaning the hull with all purpose cleaner and it makes it look like a different boat.Name: IMG_20190422_192302758.jpg

Here's a few pictures. Forgot to tell Steve to turn his phone side ways, sorry.

Looking forward to following your progress!
To bad you don’t live closer to me.
We could slap that front deck on a CNC router and you’d have a perfect fit.

Maybe some new flotation foam should be in the budget. Just saying.........

Danny, would that be the same foam they use for insulating houses, a closed cell spray foam? I was going to try some Great Stuff foam but the first can didn't expand real well so I need to find another option.

Answered my own question. It's called flotation pour foam. Two part mix and pour. A 4 gallon kit will make 16 cubic feet of foam, will float about 1600 pounds and costs 200.00.

I've used that 2 part before. It doesn't take much to make a complete mess!
