    Default eater crappie

had some time before Easter family dinner .....what to do?
granddaughter says lets go FISHING!!!!! okay then.
went to long lake first, tried pulling jigs....nothing , but we did see a mama goose on her nest , a bunch of turtles , some ducks and Livy got to drive the boat a bit.
next stop thornapple lake near our house , I figured we could get a few crappie in a channel that usually holds some crappie this time of year, it did not disappoint us.
17 smallish crappie , mostly on minnows but a few on small jig tipped with a wax worm.
Livy caught 6 by herself, she told me that several times!!
water was 46 degrees and somewhat stained.
    great start to my Easter.

    Nice day on the water.

Question- have you ever fished Lower Crooked near Delton? With all the water they have down that way there is a ton of flooded brush similar to what we found fish in on Upper Crooked last year.
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing

very odd that you would ask that..........that is where I am headed today after I get out of work.
I drove by the launch last Friday as I was headed south to pick up some trailer axles and I noticed the same thing as you..lots of flooded brush.
hopefully I can give a lake report tomorrow, or tonight if I can figure out my phone...
