    Default Bitely/Baldwin

    Hey guys new here.
My name is Ed I fish around Kalamazoo/Allegan/Barry counties.
I bought a cabin in Bitely and am looking for any help I can get for decent lakes and areas to crappie fish. I will definitely return the favor myself. Heading up for some ice fishing this weekend.
    Thanks and tight lines,
    Ed

    Ed,

There are two people to speak to about this area. One of them would be "Fishing Couple" (Gary). He worked in the area for several years and might be able to provide some insight.

The second person to talk to would be Skillet007 (Kevin). He has family in the Baldwin/Idlewild area and has done a ton of fishing and hunting in that area over the years. He has an uncle (Jesse) that lives in the area and does a lot of fishing. Kevin should be able to help you out whenever he gets online.

I have a lot of experience in the Custer/Scottville/Ludington area. I also have a buddy that is from the Walkerville/Bitely area and I could pick his brains a little bit.

Welcome to the site by the way!

I just shot Kevin a text message and he will get on here the first chance he gets and hopefully provide a few good lakes for you to try.

    Welcome to the site Ed,
It’s been a while since I’ve ice fished up that way, but when I did idlewild lake- has a decent population of crappie, size is about average 8-11”, there’s lots of gills and some nice pike in there too
Woodland lake - has really nice crappie size and population, this lake I’ve only boat fished and the east bay is where we always find them
Nichols lake- I hear is another good crappie lake, I have this one on my hit list, so I don’t have any personal info
There a lot of smaller lakes closer to the idlewild area that have some big crappie , but are very swampy all around and makes them hard to access on ice, trust me I found out the cold hard way, lol but come spring time if you got a small boat with a set of oars I’d be happy to show you some of the others
