    Was Skinny?

I still am, I have 6 pack Abs.

Problem is the darn cold winters. I need to keep them insulated.

Caught lots of walleye but had trouble getting legal size fish. Ended with 15 in the box with one that went 6 1/2 pounds. Caught a few goo (drum) and a couple of suckers and one white bass. The catfish weren't in that hole like they were the other day. Caught one 20" flat head and snagged a few tiny ones. Perfect weather and water conditions.

I spent the morning canning red skinned potatoes. First time I've done it but they seem to have turned out good.

Yesterday was a "Stay Inside Day" except, I did clean out the driveway, and go to Cabelas.

Acquired the Navionics Map Chip for the new Lowrance Graphs, and the last stickler of frustration is "Lake Level Offset" & some color schemes.

On a Humminbird, you can set the shallow water mark you want, lets say 5 foot or less for your own safety and that of your boat. That color is red.
The rest of the navigable water color is pale blue to represent safe water. used it all the time, @ Detroit River, and any place I was unfamiliar. Was AWESOME.

On a Lowrance, and this seems backwards to me, but the shallow water (5 Foot or less) is blue, and the navigable water is white.

Lowrance has a "Safe Water Level" that places little red "x" in the area, but the lowest option is 6 foot.

I did find that I can remove one settings, I can not remember right now, and then set it for "Shallow Water" and then set a "Fishing Range" and get the shallow water white, and the rest of the map blue.
I have not used them enough yet to make a determination, on which is better, but I an really missing my old Humminbird w/ Lake Master chip right now.

    Aaron,
That is the biggest frustration going from one unit to another. Having something you are used to and familiar with and then going to something that you are unfamiliar with. It is tough. I know that Hummingbird has great features and some things I really want but... the down side to makeing a change is having to live with certain settings and or not being able to change things that you liked in the other unit. I've come to the conclusion that I will simply stick with what I am used to, if for nothing else then to avoid what we all hate: CHANGE!

I have been doing allot or reading, and research, on the Lowrance. Spent allot of time, looking at the 196 page manual, and using the graph at the same time. I cannot remember all the exact terms, but am starting to get them. once i added the Chip, options and features changed, so its like starting over again.

As far as the Sonar, and Side scan, etc, they are pretty much identical. The differences, I have found are in the Navigation, and Charts options.

I use the word replicate as the settings are worded different, and such, but I have got it (Lowrance) to replicate the Hummingbird almost exclusively, with the exception of Water Level Offset, and Shallow Water settings. 2 Things I really liked, and allowed me to enjoy a new location, without fear of smashing into rocks, bottom, or shoals.

What was funny, was that I even found a way to replicate the little fish symbols, that drives Kevin nuts, so I may have to turn it on
One thing of note, the Bird had 2 colored fish, Gold and Blue, Gold was right under the boat, and Blue was a wide band frequency, so you had an idea of which freq, they were marked. Lowrance is just all one color, not way to distinguish the freq band they were marked in.

Sonar Chart Live has a minimum depth settings/option as well, and may mimic the HB, but I won't know until I am on water testing.
