At least you got out. I worked Saturday and did domestic chores Sunday.

Despite breaking a toe Saturday morning we got a lot done in our basement restification project. All the walls that are drywall have a new coat of paint as do the doors, laid ceramic tile in the hallway between my office and bathroom. Purchased and installed most of the flooring at the bottom of the stairs that blends into the L/R area. Got cabinets hung for Judy’s quilting area, Jr and Chris got power to a circuit that I had no idea why it never worked......turns out I never ran the power to it before covering the wall with drywall.....and installed all new pulls on our kitchen cabinets.

Toe hurts like a son of a gun by Sunday night, but a lot of progress was made.

On a side note: my “helper” told me on Tuesday he was going camping for 2 weeks starting Monday.....Today.....think he’s in for a surprise when he gets back from camping Jaw Jackin Jeff's Overall Nonsense Thread 2019

Really wanted to fish this weekend but reports of winds on Saginaw Bay as well as the cancellation of a tournament in Alpena made up my mind for me to stay home....which worked out other than the broken toe

Ouch! Did you drop something on it or kick something(like your helper)?

I’ve had a few helpers like that, most seem surprised and didn’t have a clue.

Neither and it’s a story that could only happen to me involving my eyesight, little pup Emma and a perceived coyote in the field behind our house.....

I found the story of your cousin and your good fortune quite hilarious to me. I love when things like that happen and it all works out.
Laying tile? I assume you were using "our" tile cutter?

Also, by any chance did I give you an extra trolling motor remote? You are the only person I can think of that I gave that to. If not, then I LOST it (like most things lately). Basically, I have my normal one I use in my boat, plus a spare. I then had a spare to the spare in my cabinet (still in little pink bubble wrap). For whatever reason, Brian misplaced his (he took it home with him one weekend and never brought it back). No big deal, I'll get the spare to the spare out of the cabinet. Only cause I was lazy and didn't want to open my boat cover and grab the spare for fear it wouldn't be put back in the boat. I ended up grabbing the spare as the spare to the spare was no longer where I remember it being for the last 5 years! In the end I chalked it up to possibly giving it to Steve so he could have a spare. It at least made me feel good and didn't force me to rip my whole barn apart to look for it. So, if you do have it, awesome! If not, do you want to come over and help me remove everything from my barn to find it? (Joke)

I spent yesterday in the basement as well. It was nice and cool down there. I have purchased enough archery setup equipment over the years to start my own archery store. Basically I cannot stand to have most shops setup equipment for me as I know they won't do it exactly how I want it. I do it all myself. All of my equipment has/had a home but, anytime I wanted to use it I had to move stuff off my desk, get the other stuff out, blah blah. Basically make a big mess. In the end I thought it would be nice to simply have my own work area for it.

I had a rebate check from Menards (for the washing machine I had to buy) so I purchased base cabinet and used it as an end leg. I took a 4x8 sheet of 1/4 peg board and encased both sides with furring strips. I also ran one down the center in the back to keep it off the wall. I mounted it in the corner and tight to the floor joists with TapCon's. I Then built my workbench to the wall using the corner as one end and the cabinet as the other. I did also find a use for some of the 8 million cement board screws I have. They work awesome for affixing you second piece of 3/4 inch MDF to get your 1 1/2" countertop. I countersink everything and will fill them later. I "might" put formica on it as I still have a piece from a custom bar I built a little more than 10 years ago. I will plain down some of my rough cut red oak and use it as the corner trim and countertop trim (at some point in time).

I now have a place to put all of my gear and have it out and ready to use antime I want. I work on a lot of bows throughout the year and this will save me a ton of time and energy.

I played Saturday, but worked around the house Sunday.

I released my "Inner Steve & Jerry" and used saws, hammers, nails, screws, and a drill, Oh, and a wrench.

I fixed the gate, and have everything in place, just need to get the sides & latches figured out.

Rich I don’t have your trolling motor remote.

Luckily the tile I put down didn’t need any cuts, so “our saw” is still tucked away under the bench.

Well, if I would have given it to you, then it would have been your remote.

So, I guess I now have a missing remote. This has been happening more and more lately.
